Fun Lake Facts
-
Our lake is East Lake Tohopekaliga (East Toho), the 2nd largest lake in Osceola County, 5 miles in diameter.
-
It's commonly said that Tohopekaliga means "sleeping tiger," referring to how choppy the waters get when there's inclement weather.
-
Breaking it down, "tohopke" means fort or fenced area, and "lika" means gathering site. Thus, you can say that Tohopekaliga means "we will gather together here."
We hope you'll gather with us to experience the lake's ethereal sunsets and serene nights.
