10 Family Friendly Things To Do in St. Cloud

With summer vacation around the corner, finding family friendly things to do might be on the top of your list. Planning day trips to neighboring cities is a great way to get out of the house, explore new areas, and spend quality time with your family. If you are looking to skip the hustle and bustle of Orlando, consider a trip to historic St. Cloud. We've compiled a list of 10 family friendly things to do in St. Cloud to make planning a trip here a breeze!

1.     Start your day at Savvy Sweets bakery in the heart of St. Cloud's historic district. This colorful bakery is the perfect start to your morning with fresh brewed coffees and an assortment of baked donuts and breads.

2.     Taking a stroll through downtown you can stop into a variety of stores including Southern Roots Antiques, Native Nomad, and 34 Fireflies. Downtown has a little bit of everything from boutiques to antiques.

3.     Entertain the kids by stopping into the Stained Glass Lady where kids (& adults!) can make their own mosaic piece. Amber has a variety of templates to choose from for these pieces.

4.     If mosaic art isn't your thing, try painting a pottery piece at Just A Glazin. They have over 100 different pottery pieces to choose from.

5.     After working up an appetite creating art and walking around, it's time for some well-deserved treats! Pop's Waffle & Ice Cream has more than 20 flavors of Hershey's ice cream plus all the delicious toppings to go with it.

6.     Looking for lunch? Granny’s Southern Smokehouse has slow cooked pulled pork and all the southern sides to go with it.

7.     Looking to escape the Florida heat for a while? Catch a movie at the historic Twin Theater. This theater plays new releases and features a full concession stand.

8.     Rehydrate at Boba Nova, one of downtown’s newest businesses. Enjoy refreshing milk teas, lemonades, and fruit teas with popping or chewy boba added.

9.     Once you’re rehydrated, take a drive down to our Lakefront Park. Here kids can play along the beach, on the covered playground, or enjoy the refreshing cool water at the Splash pad.

10.  End your day in St. Cloud on the Pearl Riverboat. Toho Riverboat Adventures will guide you on a 90-minute afternoon or sunset cruise along East Lake Toho. Relax in the breeze taking in the sights and maybe even a drink from our onboard cash bar. Binoculars and sight-seeing guides are available for use on the Pearl.

These 10 items are just a sampling of what St. Cloud has to offer! If you are planning a trip on Saturday during the summer, our St. Cloud Main Street program hosts Storybook Adventures where you can read the pages of a book in shop windows then meet the author at the end of the story!
